The Wilson family loved songs and would listen to a variety when Nancy and Ann were young children.
"Our parents were particularly in the groups of their era for instance Peter, Paul Mary, Kingston Trio, Harry Belafonte those types of people in the actual Beatnik era," said Ann. "And that's when we got it in our minds we could sing harmonies together.Inches
When the sisters were of sufficient age to play guitars they were enjoying the Beatles, the Stones as well as Led Zeppelin.
"We learned how to good ole' from them," said Ann. "I reckon we put the two together [harmonies and rock] and made up our very own new thing."

"Our initial struggle was to get credibility just to be taken severely and it took a few years,Inches said Ann.
