The images of bound corpses, of civilians shot next to their bikes, of improvised mass graves, make us think of a scenario that we would describe as  Dantesque . For what happened in Bucha, perhaps we should coin a more specific adjective, and Putinesque could well do  . In this case it is not a literary fiction. Russian soldiers have also been found abandoned by Putin's army in its retreat. Were they deserters or simply repatriating their bodies was uncomfortable and it was preferable to hide it from an already very controlled public opinion? In any case, it is Putinesque barbarism, as a personalized brand. Evocations proliferate. Between us we talk about the bombed Gernika . But we could also remember that Dresden was devastated with thousands of bombs when the Germans had already lost the war and without being a military objective either.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were eradicated from the map with nuclear bombs, to avoid casualties in the North American army, despite the immense cost of human lives it caused among Japanese Argentina Email List civilians. We should get used to remembering all war tragedies regardless of their sign. Of course, this championship is won in advance by totalitarian dictators, but it is worth reviewing what was perpetrated by governments with greater democratic tradition. Just as it is not much use to apply the demonym to these atrocities, tending to identify, for example, Germany with Nazism, Spain with Franco, France with the resistance or Russia with Putin. Weapons do not seem to defend North American citizens, accustomed to massacres that are inconceivable in places where it is not usual for anyone to be armed.

Today more than ever we must look at the Russian cultural heritage and admire the resistance of Russian citizens who pay with their lives for any discrepancy. The Putinesque has an absolutely identifiable artisan from whom the orders seem to emanate and that responsibility should not be diluted among the entire Russian people. Let's avoid that Manichaean temptation that embodies our convictions in a flag or a passport stained by the boss on duty. It is surprising that we can suddenly empty the Russian embassies in Europe, revealing that some members of the Russian diplomatic corps were carrying out harmful activities. The same thing happens with the fortunes amassed when the Soviet Union collapsed.
